Welcome to the Home Page of Division 17, United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed civilian component of the United States Coast Guard, and part of the Coast Guard Forces.
Established by Congress in 1939 as the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, and later renamed the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, it serves at the direction of the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard. Members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary engage in all Coast Guard activities except military and direct law enforcement involvement.

Coast Guard Auxiliary vessels operating under Coast Guard orders are considered government vessels. If Coast Guard personnel are on board an Auxiliary vessel, the Auxiliary vessel will display the U.S. Coast Guard Ensign.
Division 17 was established on 01 June 2009. It consists of four flotillas in the Central Space Coast  Florida region. Each flotilla is responsible for boating safety activities within their respective jurisdictions.  The division's responsibility is to provide administrative and training support for the flotillas.
For in-depth information on boating safety activities, particularly boating safety classes, vessel safety checks, etc. please click on the listed on-line flotilla.  For those flotillas that do not have a Web page, an e-mail address link has been provided.
